Cliff Steward was one of the original members of the Dubai Roadsters cycling club. He epitomized all that we aspire to as cyclists; passion for his chosen sport, camaraderie within the peloton, and unequalled sportsmanship. He was the guy who always stopped if you had a puncture, or stayed with you if you were having a bad day and couldn’t stay with the main bunch. He was always looking out for others whilst enjoying cycling with the Dubai Roadster – his club . . . his friends.

To commemorate his passion for cycling and all that it stands for, the Cliff Steward Memorial Shield was introduced. With this Shield we like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts made by people to help grow and maintain the sport of cycling in Dubai.

All the people who have since been awarded a place on this Shield have in some way given much of themselves to help the Dubai Roadsters and cycling move forward and grow in Dubai.
