FAQ

At Wolfi's Bike Shop, we often get questions about the rides we sponsor, and about places to ride in the Dubai area.

We have a great community of cyclists here in Dubai, and many of them ride with us and with the Roadsters.

The best place to find tips about riding in the area, along with ride calendars and information about specific rides is at the Dubai Roadsters' website, which can be found here.

One of the most common questions we get at Wolfi's about riding with us is what the pace of each of our group rides is like. Or to put it another way, just how much fitness do you need to ride with us and have fun on each ride?

The Friday Ride:

This is our largest ride, and comes in 3 flavors. There is an 80 km loop, a 100 km loop, and a 120 km loop. All three groups have their own pace, and their own style. The 80 km loop is the slowest of the three, and you can expect about a 30 kmh pace. The 100 km loop runs a little faster at about 32-35kph, and the 120 km loop averages the fastest pace at 35-38 kph. All three loops are supported by a follow car, and if our fitness fails you, you will be expected to ride in the follow car.

The Beginner's Ride:

This ride is intended to give you an introduction to riding in Dubai. It is not just for folks who lack experience riding a road bike. It's also for those who aren't used to riding in Dubai heat, or in large groups, or in traffic. It's for just about anyone who is not quite ready for the Friday ride, for whatever reason. This ride is scheduled for the first Sunday of the month, so call us at the shop if you want to join in.

The Nadd al Sheba training sessions:

These are less formal than the rest of the rides. More of a designated area for riding and training. Anyone is welcome to ride, but there isn't a group, per se.
